Peers

Days weeks months years
All alone we face our fears
All alone with empty tears
Hidding them from all our peers
As we hide behind a wall of pride
We walk alone without a guide
We watch and see a friend break free 
And fly up into the empty sky
You long to follow and become a swallow
But the chains on your feet
Grow heavy in this heat
And hold us down upon the ground..
